The Riyadh Accord binds the parties to engaging sincerely and seriously towards development and reinforcing the relations between the two countries in political, economic and social domains. Both would also support the political and security efforts of the African Union in re-establishing peace in the border area. The Accord further provides for a reopening of channels of communication, to encourage contact for business and investment purposes between the two countries and to conclude protocols to this end. The Parties further agree to cooperate to develop the border region, in particular in economic terms, for health care and the fight against epidemics, and transport.
