Representatives from the Zintan and Zuwara signed a binding agreement in Zuwara to end hostilities and promote peaceful coexistence. The parties pledged to stop identity-based arrests, secure sovereign roads within their borders, and guarantee safe civilian movement. They agreed to end hostile media campaigns, hold their members accountable for violations, and share intelligence to prevent future incidents. The agreement prohibited the use of each other’s territory for aggression and committed both sides to resolve disputes through dialogue and legal channels, rejecting armed violence. Zintan forces agreed to withdraw from Zuwara, and both sides established a joint follow-up committee to oversee implementation.
On behalf of the Zintan, Mashashiyya, Quntrar, and neighbouring tribes, a reconciliation council comprising tribal leaders, including Warfallah, Tarhuna, Gharyan, and others, brokered a peace agreement to resolve conflict in the al-Awiniyya region. The parties committed to restoring displaced persons to their homes, withdrawing armed groups, securing roads, and halting provocations. They pledged to end impunity by handing over perpetrators to a neutral body, removing social protections from offenders, and investigating killings, disappearances and property damage. The council took responsibility for reparations, service restoration and conflict resolution per sharia and local customs.
Following the Reconciliation Agreement, a reconciliation committee comprising major Libyan tribes brokered a peace accord between the Zintan, Mashashiyyah, Qintrar, and neighbouring communities to end conflict in al-Awiniyah, Mizdah, and surrounding areas. The agreement guarantees the return of displaced persons, withdrawal of armed groups, and restoration of civilian access and mobility without targeting based on identity. The Parties committed to individual accountability for crimes and renouncing collective punishment and tribal protection. The committee would oversee reparations, infrastructure repairs, and clearance of war remnants. It would also adjudicate land disputes and investigate killings and disappearances. The Parties further pledged not to enlist external armed forces against one another.
