Background: Sufiya Bray is a Governance and Human Rights expert in the African Governance Architecture Support Project located at the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) of the African Union. She previously served as the Advocacy Project Manager at the Centre for the Study of Violence and Reconciliation. Bray’s work focuses on the development and implementation of policy and institutional reforms on conflict transformation, peacebuilding, transitional justice and torture. Her experience includes advocacy, research, training, capacity building, policy analysis, policy development and project management in the peace, security, reconciliation, justice, gender mainstreaming, and sexual and gender-based violence fields. She has worked extensively with continental and national policymakers, civil society actors and academics in post-conflict and transitional countries in Africa and the Middle East.
