Background: Miraji Magai Juma Maira is the Coordinator of the Mwalimu Nyerere Leadership and Management Institute (MNLMI) at the Mwalimu Nyerere Foundation in Tanzania. He was previously a Programme Officer at the same foundation. His work seeks to contribute to conflict resolution and reconciliation, peacebuilding and promoting people-centred development by developing and overseeing the implementation of pertinent programmes and projects. In 2016 he was a fellow at the Institute for the Study of Human Rights (ISHR), Columbia University, in the Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability programme. He also serves as Secretary of the National Committee for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities (TNCPG) of the United Republic of Tanzania, as well as Acting Regional Coordinator of the Regional Civil Society Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
